CME-CPD Guidance and Procedure for Accreditation by EACCME of UEMS

This Guidance is for
- EADV Congresses and Spring Symposia
- Sub-Specialty Societies ' (SSS) Meetings held in the context of Congresses and Spring Symposia of EADV
- Satellite Symposia sponsored by Industry
- "Fostering Courses" of the Fostering Committee
FOR ALL ORGANISERS:
In order to get accreditation by UEMS-EACCME, PCOs or other organisers (Fostering Committee for "Fostering Courses") have to register online, 4 months before the event.
See www.uems.net > EACCME. Please download UEMS “Reference Guide” on application site!
All accreditation procedures will be charged by UEMS-EACCME according to the sliding scale related to the number of participants.
Please send a copy of the UEMS-EACCME application-request, including the final programme, to the CME-CPD Committee of EADV (cme-cpd@eadv.org).
PLEASE NOTE:
1. UEMS will allocate a maximum of 6 ECMECs per day, 3 ECMECs per half day throughout the EADV scientific event.
ECMEC's are convertible into national credits by the National Accreditation Authorities (see "CME-CPD in Europe" on EADV website > education).
Programme coordination is mandatory to avoid overlaps. Thus it is recommended that all programmes issued by SSS and Industry be submitted to the SPC (Scientific programming Committee of EADV).
2. The organisers are responsible for quality control of the educational events by the participants -The official UEMS-EACCME questionnaire shall be used for your evaluation of the event/activity: www.uems.net > EACCME > new online application form > Step 4: add supporting documents > event report template.
3. SSS and Industry are responsible for issuing their own CME-CPD certificate directly to participants under the signature of the academic chairperson of the educational event.
The UEMS logo may be applied on the certificates issued by the SS-S and Industry, but only if the events/activities accredited by UEMS-EACCME and paid for!
RE: sponsored events
- Financial/commercial support of events/activities is only recognised and allowed by unrestricted educational grants, i.e. funds from a commercial source should only be payable to the institution that is organising the CME-CPD event/activity
- Any financial/commercial support for the organisation of the educational event/activity must be clearly indicated by all contributors as "commercially organised satellite session" or "financially supported event".
