MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES

 

The membership categories offered by the EADV are outlined below. Before completing your application form, click on the desired category to check the full details.

MEMBER FEE

ASSOCIATE

 

Definition:
This category of membership is open to any person with special interests in Dermatology/Venereology, who accepts the principles and the purposes of the EADV and whose application is approved according to Article 4 of these Statutes.

Associate Members shall be entitled to vote but are not eligible to be elected to the Board or as Officers of the Academy.

Documentation to provide:

  • A copy of the current diploma
  • A short letter or email explaining eventual activities and interest in Dermatology/Venereology and why the applicant wishes to become an EADV member
  • A duly signed copy of the Agreement of adherence to EADV Statutes (this document requires a handwritten signature)
  • Two endorsers’ names (EADV active (International) Fellow members)

Annual Fee:
EUR 170 - Membership with an online version of the JEADV
EUR 200 - Membership with a hard-copy and online version of the JEADV

FELLOW

 

Definition:
This category of membership is open to:
─ Specialists in Dermatology and/or Venereology who are certified as specialists in Europe.
─ European nationals who are certified as specialists in Dermatology and/or Venereology.

Fellow Members shall be entitled to vote and are eligible to be elected to the Board and as Officers of the Academy.

Documentation to provide:

  • Official letter in English from National Society, certifying that the applicant is a specialist in Dermatology and/or Venereology
  • OR
  • Official letter in English signed by an EADV Fellow Member in good standing from the applicant’s country certifying that you are a specialist in Dermatology and/or Venereology
  • OR
  • Copy in English (or Certified English translation) of the diploma in Dermatology and/or Venereology
  • A duly signed copy of the Agreement of adherence to EADV Statutes (this document requires a handwritten signature)

Annual Fee:
EUR 150 - Membership with an online version of the JEADV
EUR 180 - Membership with a hard-copy and online version of the JEADV

SCIENTIST WITH PHD

 

Definition:
This category of membership is open to: Scientists holding a PhD degree or the equivalent in Dermatology and/or Venereology and/or Cutaneous Biology-related subjects and who are engaged in full time research in these or related subjects.

Scientist with PhD shall be entitled to vote and are eligible to be elected to the Board and as Officers of the Academy.

Documentation to provide:

  • Copy of PhD documentation (or equivalent) in Dermatology and/or Venereology and/or Cutaneous Biology related subjects
  • Confirmation of current engagement in full-time research in these or related subjects
  • A duly signed copy of the Agreement of adherence to EADV Statutes (this document requires a handwritten signature)

Annual Fee:
EUR 150 - Membership with an online version of the JEADV
EUR 180 - Membership with a hard-copy and online version of the JEADV

SENIOR

 

Definition:
This category of membership is open to specialists in Dermatology and/or Venereology who have retired (i.e. reached 65 years of age). However, Fellow Members who reach 65 years of age may continue to stay in the Fellow Members category with all rights and obligations, should they so wish.

All members choosing to become Senior Members shall pay reduced membership fees, and are eligible to vote, but are not eligible to be elected to the Board or as Officers of the Academy.

Documentation to provide:

  • Official letter in English from National Society, certifying that the applicant is a specialist in Dermatology and/or Venereology
  • OR
  • Official letter in English signed by an EADV Fellow Member in good standing from the applicant’s country certifying that you are a specialist in Dermatology and/or Venereology
  • OR
  • Copy in English (or Certified English translation) of the diploma in Dermatology and/or Venereology
  • A duly signed copy of the Agreement of adherence to EADV Statutes (this document requires a handwritten signature)

Annual Fee:
EUR 75 - Membership with an online version of the JEADV
EUR 105 - Membership with a hard-copy and online version of the JEADV

JUNIOR FELLOW

 

Definition:
This category of membership is open to Fellow Members under the age of 35 who have recently been certified as a specialist in Dermatology and/or Venereology. Members have the option of continuing in this category after full specialisation until they reach 35 years of age.

Junior Fellows are entitled to apply to become Fellow Members before reaching 35 years of age if they so wish and if they satisfy the requirements for Fellow Members membership outlined in Statute 5 (B) above.

Junior Fellows shall pay a reduced membership fee.

Junior Fellows shall be entitled to vote but are not eligible to be elected to the Board or as Officers of the Academy.

Documentation to provide:

  • Official letter in English from National Society, certifying that the applicant is a specialist in Dermatology and/or Venereology
  • OR
  • Official letter in English signed by an EADV Fellow Member in good standing from the applicant’s country certifying that you are a specialist in Dermatology and/or Venereology

JUNIOR SCIENTIST WITH PHD

 

Definition:
This category of membership is open to Physicians or scientists under the age of 35 who have recently been certified as PhD scientists in Dermatology and/or Venereology. Members have the option of continuing in this category after full specialisation until they reach 35 years of age.

Junior Scientist with PhD are entitled to apply to become Scientist with PhD/Fellow Members before reaching 35 years of age if they so wish and if they satisfy the requirements for Fellow Members membership outlined in Statute 5 (B) above.

Junior Scientist with PhD shall pay a reduced membership fee.

Junior Scientist with PhD shall be entitled to vote but are not eligible to be elected to the Board or as Officers of the Academy.

JUNIOR RESIDENT

 

Definition:
This category of membership is open to Physicians in full time training in Dermatology and/or Venereology or related sciences.

A Junior Resident shall become a (Junior) Fellow Member provided he/she produces evidence of certification of specialisation according to the application procedure set out in Article 4 (A) of these Statutes.

Junior Residents shall pay a reduced membership fee.

Junior Residents shall be entitled to vote but are not eligible to be elected to the Board or as Officers of the Academy.

Documentation to provide:

  • Up-to-date trainee certificate indicating the beginning and expected end of training in Dermatology and/or Venereology on official letter-headed paper, signed and stamped by the head of the department
  • A duly signed copy of the Agreement of adherence to EADV Statutes (this document requires a handwritten signature)

Annual Fee:
EUR 50 - Membership with an online version of the JEADV
EUR 80 - Membership with a hard-copy and online version of the JEADV

JUNIOR SCIENTIST IN FULL TIME TRAINING

 

This category of membership is open to scientists in full time training in Dermatology and/or Venereology or related sciences.

A Junior Scientist in full time training shall become a (Junior) Scientist with PhD/(Junior) Fellow Member provided he/she produces evidence of certification of specialisation according to the application procedure set out in Article 4 (A) of these Statutes.

Junior Scientist in full time training shall pay a reduced membership fee.

Junior Scientist in full time training shall be entitled to vote but are not eligible to be elected to the Board or as Officers of the Academy.

Documentation to provide:

  • A letter from the head of the department attesting that the applicant is a PhD student at the Department of Dermatology from (starting date) to (expected ending date)
  • A duly signed copy of the Agreement of adherence to EADV Statutes (this document requires a handwritten signature)

Annual Fee:
EUR 50 - Membership with an online version of the JEADV
EUR 80 - Membership with a hard-copy and online version of the JEADV

INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATE

 

Definition:
This category of membership is open to any person with special interests in Dermatology/Venereology, who accepts the principles and the purposes of the EADV and whose application is approved according to Article 4 of these Statutes.

Definition:
This category of membership is open to: Specialists in Dermatology and/or Venereology of non-European nationality who are certified as specialists outside Europe and who provide evidence of certification and whose application is approved according to Article 4 of these Statutes

Fellow Members are entitled to vote and are eligible to be elected to the Board, but not as Officers of the Academy.

Documentation to provide:

  • Official letter in English from National Society, certifying that the applicant is a specialist in Dermatology and/or Venereology
  • OR
  • Copy in English (or Certified English translation) of the diploma in Dermatology and/or Venereology.
  • OR
  • Copy in English (or Certified English translation) of the diploma in Dermatology and/or Venereology
  • A duly signed copy of the Agreement of adherence to EADV Statutes (this document requires a handwritten signature)

Annual Fee:
EUR 150 - Membership with an online version of the JEADV

INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIST WITH PHD

 

Definition:

INTERNATIONAL SENIOR

 

Definition:
This category of membership is open to specialists in Dermatology and/or Venereology who have retired (i.e. reached 65 years of age). However, Fellow Members who reach 65 years of age may continue to stay in the Fellow Members category with all rights and obligations, should they so wish.

STUDENT (EUROPEAN AND INTERNATIONAL)

 

Definition:
This category of membership is open to
─ Medical students who have not yet achieved their medical degree and who show interest in Dermatology/Venereology
─ Medical students who have not yet started a training in Dermatology

Student Members shall not be entitled to vote and are not eligible to be elected to the Board or as Officers of the Academy.

Documentation to provide:

  • Up-to-date certificate indicating the beginning and expected end of medical studies on official hospital or university letterhead letter-headed paper, signed and stamped by the head of the department
  • A duly signed copy of the Agreement of adherence to EADV Statutes (this document requires a handwritten signature)

Annual Fee:
EUR 50 - Membership with an online version of the JEADV
EUR 80 - Membership with a hard-copy and online version of the JEADV

NURSE AND MEDICAL ASSISTANT (EUROPEAN AND INTERNATIONAL)

 

Definition:
This category of membership is open to licensed practical, registered or practitioner nurses and medical assistants involved in the nursing care of dermatology and venereology patients.

Nurse and Medical Assistant Members shall be entitled to vote but are not eligible to be elected to the Board or as Officers of the Academy.

Documentation to provide*:

  • A copy of the current Medical License/Diploma
  • OR
  • Official letter in English from a Dermatological Nursing Society
  • A duly signed copy of the Agreement of adherence to EADV Statutes (this document requires a handwritten signature)
  • One endorser’s name (EADV active (International) Fellow member).

CORPORATE (EUROPEAN AND INTERNATIONAL)

 

Definition:
Corporate Members are organisations that are particularly active in the field of Dermatology and/or Venereology. Corporate Members will include:
─ National European Dermatology/Venereology societies
─ Corporate Healthcare companies with a major interest in Dermatology/Venereology
─ Any other bona fide organisation related to Dermatology/Venereology and approved by the Executive Committee

Corporate Members shall not be entitled to vote and are not eligible to be elected to the Board or as Officers of the Academy.

Documentation to provide:

  • Company’s motivations and expectations when applying for an EADV membership.
  • A copy of the bylaws translated into English and the total number of members in the Association
  • A duly signed copy of the Agreement of adherence to EADV Statutes (this document requires a handwritten signature)
  • Required approval by the Executive Committee

Annual Fee:
EUR 1000 - Membership with a hard-copy version of the JEADV
